BOTSWANA coach Stanley Tshosane says he would be happy to see the Zebras at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) finals but he does know that Zambia is a major hurdle to that objective.
Botswana play Zambia in the return leg in Ndola tomorrow after drawing the first leg 1-1 in Gaborone with the aggregate winner qualifying to second round to meet the victor of the Mauritius and Zimbabwe clash.
Tshosane said in Ndola on arrival at the Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International airport that his side will put up a spirited contest but was not categorical about winning.
“It will depend on the day.  I just believe we get to Saturday and give Zambia good game,” he said.
Apart from an outright victory, a scoring draw of more than one goal will see Botswana through to the second round but if the game ends 0-0, Zambia will qualify.
“We are now looking forward to do better in this competition.  Our intention was to come here with a win (after the first leg).  We wanted to use the home advantage but unfortunately (we drew) and we accepted the result,” he said.
Not taking away anything from the hosts, Tshosane said Zambia is a good side that gave his charges stiff competition in the first leg and he expects the same tomorrow.
He said during last Saturday match, some of his players suffered knocks but the team doctors are working round the clock on have a clean health bill today.
The 26-member continent, with 18 players, arrived yesterday.
