Kenya's Wilson Kipsang sets world record to win Berlin Marathon
BERLIN -- Wilson Kipsang of Kenya did what he said he'd do on Sunday,
when he broke the world record in style to win the 40th Berlin Marathon.
After suggesting he was in the form to challenge compatriot Patrick Makau's 2011 time of 2 hours, 3 minutes, 38 seconds set in Berlin, the 31-year-old Kipsang beat the record by 15 seconds to set a new world best of 2:03:23.
"Looking at my marathon progress and career so far, I still think I have the potential to run faster. Anything under 2:03:23 would do," said Kipsang, who was just four seconds short of Makau's time in Frankfurt in 2011.
It was the eighth world record in Berlin in 15 years, strengthening its reputation as the world's fastest course.

Kirstie Trup: Acid attack victim vows to return to Zanzibar, but is ‘frustrated’ at slow progress of case
One of the two young women who suffered horrific injuries in a seemingly unprovoked acid attack in Zanzibar has vowed to return to the area to continue her humanitarian work, but has expressed annoyance at the lack of progress in their case. Eighteen-year-olds Kirstie Trup and Katie Gee, both from London, were volunteering with disadvantaged children in the East African nation of Tanzania when the incident happened. They were walking through the Stone Town area of Zanzibar City after dining out when two smiling men on a moped threw acid on them as they whizzed past. Brave Trup has now said that she feels ‘very frustrated and upset that our attackers haven’t been caught,’ and fears that they never will be. Speaking to the Sunday Times, she questioned why, despite giving a detailed description of the event, her attackers have not be brought to justice in a community in which ‘everyone knows everyone.’ ‘Stone Town is too small for it to be this hard and I fear they will never be caught,’ she said.

Nokia reportedly plans a 5.2in phablet and 10in Windows RT slate
FINNISH PHONE MAKER Nokia reportedly plans to launch a 5.2in phablet device and a 10in Windows RT tablet this year.
Chinese news website Dopsy managed to get its hands on a promotional picture of the device, tipped to launch as the Nokia Lumia 825, which unlike the big screen Lumia 625 will be a high-end device.
If this leak is the real deal, the Nokia Lumia 825 will have a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor along with a 5.2in display. Unfortunately, despite its size, this won't be the first HD 1080p Windows Phone device, with the handset instead featuring a 1280x720 resolution screen.
That's pretty much all we know about Nokia's upcoming Windows Phone 'phablet' device so far, with its announcement reportedly set for October.

Chanzo: bbcswahili

BBM for Android to arrive on Samsung App Store soon
Samsung has announced that BBM for Android will soon makes its way to the Samsung App Store
BlackBerry is yet to announce the BBM for Android officially, however, Samsung seems to be keen in launching the messaging app.
A few days back, we saw the beta version of BBM for Android leaked on a smartphone, hinting that the app is in its final stages of testing.
A press release issued on Monday confirms that the Android version of the BlackBerry messaging app will be available to all Samsung Galaxy smartphones for download on both Google Play as well as Samsung App Store.
The app will be available to all the Galaxy phones across Africa. As of now, there is no further information about the global availability of the same.
Of course, the features of BBM will remain the same as we have seen in the leaks. It will include one-to-one chat, group chats and BBM groups. Further, this app has the ability to share images and voice notes to the contacts on BBM.
From the earlier rumors, we expect the BBM for Android to arrive as a free service. With that being said, we hope Samsung will be pushing the messaging app to other regions.
At this point of time, there is no word on when the BBM for iOS will appear, but one thing which is certain is that the Android version is in testing and hence, it could arrive sooner than later.

Mgombea alitumia Ziwa Nyasa kujipigia debe Malawi
